Mo Brownlee – Midwife & Lactation Consultant

Expert Breastfeeding Support

Looking after your new baby is a full time labour of love.  Every mum wants the best for her child and how to feed your baby is one of the most important decisions you will make.

Breast milk is the reference food and plan in nature for nourishing young humans.  It provides optimal nutrition, protection from infection and also reduces the likelihood of your baby developing chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma.

Breastfeeding is good for your health too, reducing your chances of breast and ovarian cancer as well as helping you to lose that extra baby weight.

Sometimes however challenges do arise and, when breastfeeding is difficult or painful, you may feel despondent, frustrated or overwhelmed.  This is when the more specialist help of a Lactation Consultant can be invaluable.  We work together to explore your breastfeeding challenges, identify and develop the skills you need to resolve those and discover the joyful experience which is feeding and nurturing your baby.

Issues I can help you overcome:

*  Attachment difficulties

*  Large weight loss

*  Sore or damaged nipples

*  Slow weight gain

*  Baby needing supplements

*  Low milk supply

*  Baby fussy or refusing the breast

*  Painful breasts

(Dr) Linda McDonald RM RGN OBE. (Dec, 2017)

“Your support in teaching Sienna how to latch was very valuable to me and I feel that you truly took the time to listen to my concerns and help us keep breastfeeding manageable at a time when without adequate support I would probably have given it up.  I would like to thank you for your support and would be very happy to recommend you to anyone experiencing issues with feeding.”
